Many millions of people gained access to news and a voice during difficult times in their home country when they had no other channels to turn to. Several of these channels originated in Stavanger.
Speakers Corner and Walk of pain is a project initiated by Rune Hersvik and Mats Lande, Frode Isachsen, and Amnesty International Norge in collaboration with the Municipality of Stavanger.
